YOSC CLUB DETAILS
Introduction
Yateley is situated at the “Three Counties Corner” of Hampshire, Surrey & Berkshire and our Club "Catchment Area" includes Camberley, Bracknell, Eversley, Farnborough, Sandhurst and Wokingham. We are about 50 miles from the popular sailing waters of the Solent where most of our Members keep their boats.
RYA Recognised Yachtmaster, Coastal Skipper and VHF Radio Courses are available locally at teaching centres in the area to encourage local people with boating interests to improve their skills and expertise.
The Yateley Offshore Sailing Club was founded in September 1991 by a group of past members of these RYA shore based evening classes whose mutual interest was sailing with the principal objective to promote and facilitate the sport of sailing and recreational boating

The Club is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association and membership now stands at 85 full and family members among whom a total of 48 boats are owned, most of which are sailing yachts ranging from 18ft to 46ft also a couple of large power boats and two catamarans..
The club wishes to increase its membership to boat owners and others who would welcome the opportunity to meet like minded and enthusiastic people. To this end, the Club holds regular meetings on the first Monday of each month at the Sandhurst Social Club . At these meetings we invite speakers to talk on a wide variety of subjects of interest to the Sailing fraternity. These have proved very enjoyable and instructive to our members.
On other Mondays we meet at our new venue in the Sandhurst Social Club Bar from around 9 p.m. onwards for an informal chat and drink. Members can swap ideas, exchange information with others on good mooring spots and quiet anchorages, offer berths to members without boats to enable them to get in some sailing hours for their logs and to give practical help to the boat owners.
The Club has organised practical demonstrations including a Survival Course which involved entering a life raft in full wet weather gear in Yateley Pool, practical demonstrations of fire extinguishers and emergency flares, a Navigation Exercise and knot-tying.
Additionally we have had some very enjoyable social and sailing trips in member's boats including cross Channel trips, dinghy sailing on Hawley Lake, visits to Poole and Weymouth, several Solent rallies and barbecues, the Club's Island Cup Event presented to the yacht with the fastest corrected time "Round the Island".
Our annual two-week Summer Cruise gives Members the opportunity to cruise in company to Normandy or Brittany and the Channel Islands calling at convenient ferry ports for crew to join or leave.
We now have a Facebook Group presence moderated by our Social Secretary for connecting and sharing information with YOSC Members and others with similar interests. CLICK HERE for details and joining instructions
