4 January - Duncan Wells, voiceover actor, RYA instructor and writer for Sailing Today Magazine with talks entitled “Just a Sharp Scratch” and “Boating Capers”. CLICK HERE for more details of Duncan’s talks - his website can be found at: http://www.duncanwells.com

1 February - A return visit from Ian Currie of Frosted Earth with a talk entitled “Frosts, Freezes and Fairs”, a look at some great winters of the past 1,000 years when even the mighty Thames froze and Fairs were held on the ice. 15 February - The Magic of Michael King - An evening of ‘Mix and Mingle’ magic including close-up and stand-up magic to thrill, captivate and involve audiences and individuals. The price per ticket is £12.50, which includes a light buffet
1 March - Howard Denyer, Surrey Branch Chairman of the International Guild of Knot Tyers with a talk entitled “Get Knotted” including a demonstration of the traditional method of constructing a piece of rope, various types of knots and demonstrate his skills and enjoyment of knot tying.
12 April - Bob Comlay with a talk entitled “Travels with Tilman”. Bob will tell us of his experiences of travelling with H W Tilman, one of the self-effacing military heros who sailed to remote parts of the world in a succession of Bristol Pilot Cutters. The talk is illustrated by a large number of unpublished colour photographs and letters from a friendship that endured until Bill's disappearance in the South Atlantic at the age of 79.
10 May - Albert Goldsmith from the RNLI will present ‘Lifejacket Clinic’ and ‘Use of Flares’ – bring along your lifejacket. Albert will demonstrate lifejacket use and inflation, what can go wrong and check cylinders. He will show us a useful 90 second pre-voyage check for lifejackets.
7 June - Quiz Night with Reading Offshore Club - CLICK HERE for a poster
5 July - Dr Richard Dunn, Curator of the History of Navigation, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich with a talk entitled “Trial by Water” detailing the spectacular development of navigation at sea in the 18th Century by looking at several specific sea voyages including Cook’s famous circumnavigation which involved and tested the new techniques and instruments. 30 July - YOSC Summer Barbecue - at the Blackwater Valley Golf Centre - tickets at £6.95 per person - CLICK HERE for menu and poster with details
6 September - Jorgen Vestlov of The Jubilee Sailing Trust with a talk entitled “Across the Atlantic on a barque”. See Club Details page for link and YOSC’s association with JST
4 October - Graham Cormick of Hydestile Resident Animals will return to us with a talk entitled “A Talk on the Wild Side” together with various rescued animals including a magnificent eagle owl, a barn owl, tawny owl and hedgehog.
1 November - YOSC AGM - Reports from the Club Officers, presentation of Accounts, election of the 2011 Committee and presentation of cups and awards followed by an informal discussion
15 November - DATE CHANGE - Beer & Skittles at Sandhurst Social Club
6 December - YOSC Christmas Party

2 February - The Meeting with Nigel Jardine, Harbour Master of Langston Harbour was cancelled due to adverse weather
20 February - Spring Dance at St. Swithun’s Parish Centre, Yateley
2 March - Michael Triff, Director of Development of Earthwatch Europe told us about Earthwatch - an international environmental charity
6 April - Alan Priddy, Skipper of Sir Alec Rose’s former Round-the World yacht, Livley Lady with a talk entitled “The Hard Way Round” - the story of preparing an old boat and a very young team to work in harmony for complete success.
11 May - Commander Bruce Nicholls OBE RN, returned to us with another interesting talk entitled: “Queens at War” -a brief history of the Cunard Line
1 June - Reading Offshore Club hosted the annual Quiz Night at their delightful riverside venue at the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club near Sonning Mill
6 July - Robin Ebers, a Cruise Liner lecturer and After Dinner Speaker, presented one of his interesting talks
10 August - YOSC Summer Barbecue at Blackwater Valley Golf Centre

5 October - Sam Steele - with a talk entitled “Round Britain - Out of the Harbour and Turn Right” -
